Our Story

Cohen Brothers imports and distributes food products and unique culinary solutions. We constantly strive to create new culinary solutions tailored to the needs of the professional and institutional kitchen. Believing in our vision, we aim for service and supply excellence of the highest quality products.

Cohen Brothers, a veteran brand launched in 1979, began as a family business in Tel Aviv’s renowned Levinsky market. From the start, our quest for quality products and our commitment to excellent service were the guiding light for the company founders, brothers Daniel and Ilan Cohen. From its inception and to date, the company has grown to some 140 employees for whom the customer in always the focus.

Cohen Brothers with various kosher certifications, including ultra-Orthodox certification, Landau, Kehilot, Beit Yossef and more, as well as under stringent Standards Association regulations. Innovative information management systems based on BI technology, software for distribution system streamlining, an advanced logistics center, and a fleet of trucks, are part of the infrastructure enabling flexibility in delivery times, long-term management to optimize service quality, unique products lines, and positioning the customer front and center.

The secret behind the company’s success lies first and foremost in the trust we have earned from thousands of customers over the years. Then, as now, the family company continues to develop, manufacture and import unique products tailored exactly to the needs of its clientele.

Cohen Brothers: the Company’s Evolution

1979

Cohen Brothers opens as a small shop in the Levinsky market, Tel Aviv, which at the time was almost like a pilgrimage location for customers country wide. The store, established by Rahamim Cohen, the current owners’ late father today, sells fresh and dried spices, dried fruits and canned goods.

1983

The small store becomes well-known in the dry food market, and expands to sales in the institutional kitchen business.

1996

The small shop expands to Moshav Tzafria in order to scale up to more significant activity.

2000

The company imports its first product: moist tomatoes from Turkey.

2007

The company’s expansion continues. The number of employees increases.

2014

Cohen Brothers establishes its first manufacturing plant for the production of confitures and fruit-based products in partnership with two experts in their field.

2018

The company exports abroad for the first time to a kosher institutional kitchen in Switzerland.

2019

The company’s expansion rate accelerates. For the first time, a logistic center was purchased in Beit Shemesh. Covering over 12,000 square meters, it includes a factory, various forms of storage space, offices and more.
